Ex-gratia TDS refund

I had been working with a MNC in India since May 2013. Due to Corona pandemic, I was laid off in June 2021 and company paid all the dues in July2021. In Jan21, I was paid ex gratia-amount of around 10Lacs with TDS deductions. The ITR is being filed for FY 2020-21 and want to know is there any tax refund possible for ex-gratia amount in Covid times. Was any Government notification issued to cover the job losses and benefits given to salaried class so that I can claim tax benefits/refunds. Documents may please be shared. Advice and suggestions are welcome. My email is roopi30 @ gmail.com.

Am not talking about gratuity exemption. It is the ex-gratia payment made by Employer over and the full and final dues already paid. TDS was deducted and can I claim refund in ITR. This all happened during Covid times and has government given any relaxation on job loss cases. Notification may please be shared.

You can treat it as employees not covered under gratuity act and take the exemption according

Am again telling it is not gratuity amount instead. For gratuity already exemption is provided in Form 16. This is ex gratia amount on which TDS has been deducted. Please share your email where I can send the documents. Mine is roopi30 @ gmail.com
