A person employed in Central Government(Delhi) died during service and his/her legal heirs are getting Ex-Gratia Payment. Whether the amount received is Taxable or not.

No, Amount received in lumpsum on the death of employee is not taxable to income tax
as per circular no. 573 dt. 21.08.1990
