Has anyone ever done EVC of an ITR by ATM.

I was not even able to find option in SBI ATM which was linked to the PAN

  1. Visit bank ATM and swipe the card and enter ATM PIN Number
  2. Select Generate EVC for Income Tax Return Filing option on the ATM Screen
  3. The EVC would be sent to your registered mobile number with Bank

HAPPY e-verifying thro ATM

Steps are available all over google, but have you done it yourself ? I tried from sbi atm but not able to find it. So asking here

I have done  AADHAR and net banking method.

I have received arrears on salary amounting to Rs.336000/- on 25.8.15 relating to FYs 2012-13 to 2014-15.  Out of total arrears a sum of Rs.90000/- has been paid arrears towards House Rent Allowance.  I had submitted Rent Receipt during these years and have got exemption for the Actual House Rent Allowance Paid to me.  Please advise whether the arrears of House Rent Allowance paid to me during the current year are exempt from payment of Income Tax or not and can I claim relief under section 89 (1) during current year .   I have requested to my employer for giving me relief u/s 89 (1) for the previous years as I would fall under the lower slab.

Please advise. My contact details are: email id: ishgogia @ rediffmail.com, mon 9213965654.

Just ask for form 10E from your employer. He will mention in form 16 also the same. Then you can claim this to your new return u/s 89 which you will file next year. HRA or any other allowance will be calculated retrospectively as per your rent paid or other deductions.

So one need to have net banking enabled for EVC through ATM ?

and which 10 digit net banking number it required ?

It said type 10 digit internet banking No.  It could be CIF or acct no also. I did not go further into this.

SBi officer was also with me. He knew nothing about e-verify thro ATM

ATM option is still not activated or you can say it is still in process by itd to release it. Such option will be notified at a future date. Then it will be available for use
