Error in itr-3 filing

Did you validate the file before saving?

It seems some mandatory field requires to be filled.....

Department has released PR2 version today.......

So, downloan latest version and  try fresh......... the problem could be due to outdated  version.....

Dear Sir,

While validating the ITR -3 PR2 this is not running in CFL page, dialigue comes as "CURRENT YEAR SPECULATIVE BUSINESS LOSS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THAT TOTAL SPECULATIVE BUSINESS LOSS SET OFF"

Where as this is running in PR1 version of ITR-3 (Which I did not update as new version comes out and the server was not taking the X M L file saying "Schema is incorrect at line 10....." etc.

Kindly help me to resolve the issue, as I am trying this from last 7th of this month.

Downloaded yesterday again, but unsolved, whereas the field is 0 in both areas. I do not know whre is the problem....I discussed this with E-filling they are just transferring me from one ph number to another.... and they suggest to go by mozila or e-explorer... where as this is not related to the problem, as I am filling up the same in OFFLINE mode..... 
If you come to know any this regarding this, kindly help me in this regards...
 

No result, better to discuss with CA Clubindia to upload the same on system or you may contact income Tax professionals to solve the issue to avoid the sure FINE.

Rarely people use ITR3, very rare who would have tried version_2 excel utility........(I came to know only last evening)

But it is bug in the utility.. which should be reported to department for immediate revision.

Call helpline for any help &/or solution.

Hi Niladhwaj,

I worked on it, there is a workaround, instead of using excel utility try using the Java utility, it processes the ITR successfully causing no validation error with same data.

You just have to download java executable setup from java site and also the java utility from Efiling downloads.

I'm having the same problem. 

I'm using the ITR3 Utility for FY2017-18 (the PR2 version). It does not generate an XML, and I'm not able to submit directly online either. It saves a draft - thats all.

Clicking the SAVE button does nothing. It also does not seem to be showing errors. I searched the computer for "*.X M L" files ot see if it was saving something , but no fiels turned up that could have been saved by the utility.

I tried the May 2018 utility also, and that doesn;t work either.

Please help. How can I get the X M L file to upload? (I've had not problem doing this any of the last 3 years with the Java Utility)

This issue got resolved in another thread, thanks to he helpful tips there.

I had installed the latest version of Java (JRE10) for use with the ITR3 (PR2 version). I unistalled JRE10, and installed the previous Java version (JRE8 with all updates). After this, the ITR3 worked as it is supposed to. I was able to save the final XML file.

Please try on Java Utility tool. It will work there. The excel is throwing up this error and there is a problem with the excel ITR 3
