Suppose there are 10 loading and unloading workers at a godown working for 5 different transporters. Each worker is eligible for PF from each of the 5 transporters. Say these transporters come together to jointly form an association and take a PF code in the name of the association and remit PF as one payment on behalf of all, is it valid? However, the association is not being formed for a profit motive. It is only for the ease of transaction.

if they own a PAN in name of association, and authorize one PAN holder signatory then as AOP or BOI they get eligible from the point of EPFO

For your information:- . . LATEST IMPORTANT AMMENDMENT The EPFO has issued Circular No. WSU/9(1)2013/Settlement/35631 Date:08th January, 2016, removing the grace period of 5 days for depositing PF . Accordingly, it has been decided that concession of grace period of 5 days available to the employers for depositing the contribution & other dues is withdrawn herewith. This decision shall apply from February, 2016 (contributions for month of January, 2016 and payable in the month of February, 2016),and hence, February 2016 onwards the due date shall be 15th of the following month instead of 20th.
