Can anybody explain me about Entry Tax and Octrai in detail.

Entry tax - it is the tax paid to the state govt. at the time of entry of goods into the state.
Octroi - It is the tax paid to the Municipalities at the time of entry of goods into certain locations, say cities, towns.

Hi,
Entry Tax is the matter of particular state and levied according to the provisions of State entry Tax acts .It is the revenue of state government.
on other hand Octroi is the matter of Municipal Corporation of the particular city/town. It is collected by municipal corporation when the goods entered in to the notified Area and it is the revenue of concerned Municipal corporation.
