Dear Shinoj,

Your analysis is ill-placed.

Rank is only a ticket pass to reach an interview.

Unless u can communicate properly, u wont get a job in any MNC...

Getting medal is one thing, ace-ing interviews and getting a job is different.

i agree wid aldrine ...these days english is very important in business field thats why people are working harder to attain good communication skill......

No doubt english is important these days specially in mnc but how to convey ur message and communicate with others in any language is more important,

A reasonable knowledge of English is sufficient.

If one can understand your views expressed in English; it is sufficient for success.

It does not mean that I am in favour of poor English.

For CA, as rightly said by Aldrine, analytical skills is a must.

Otherwise those who are excellent in English Literature must be found at the top level of the Corporate World !

If you give lecture in ornamental English; nobody will listen because it is not understood by mass.

Practically we see on TV that most successful persons are not so excellent in English.

For CA an expert knowledge about the subject is a must which comes from practical exposure.

In my opinion; one should regularly develop his skills - whatever is the area - whether command over subjects or communication skills in English. This is the success key in CA profession.

One should not forget the CA Final can be passed in Hindi Medium.

If English is the only criteria; then definitely Institute could have deleted the provisions of  Hindi Medium.

CAs are scattered all over India from metro cities to  small towns. Those who wish to serve in small towns; English is not a problem for them at all to run their practice.

One who are not ready to upgrade their skills will never touch heights.

I have attended some seminars of ISO 9001:2000 institution at  Mumbai. They interacted in Hindi as well. When I put the same question as has been asked in the forum - the reply I got  - "We should talk in that language which is easy to interact by all."

I think person will be recognised by his skill, ability, thoughts and attitude rather than what language he speaks. Most of the Japanies dont know  ABCD  but U know where  they are , Most of the Chines dont know English but their Economy is faster than us and attracting global eyes..

Yes for a CA in Todays Globalised envornment English is neccessary but only that much knowledge   is sufficent which enables to Understand what others are telling and make others to understand what  he is telling.

I agree with CA SURENDRA KUMAR RAKHECHA that only that much of knowledge of English is must with which you can make the other person understand what you want to convey. Ironically, in India, a person fluent in this foreign language is taken as well-resourced person, whereas the real story comes something else. In words of Baba Ramdev, In India, a person diverts his 80% of energy in learning language which he could have utilised in earning knowledge.

But, as we know, to live in a society one has to follow its rules, otherwise he would not be allowed any space in it..  Not knowing this language, may let you down at several points of time, so learn the language to express yourself in an effective way and also to answer the other person in the tone he questioned you.

Best Regards

Most humbly to adulate all your views,

What I Personally believe is that, even though endowed with near about 100 complete languages and 1600 dialects how poor we Indians are.

Really it is such a painful affair that we are so handicapped that even on this forum we are using a language for comminucation which is supposed to be the language of those inhuman peoples who ruled us, stamped us and squeezed us to meet doom.150 years of subordination and slavery, bloodshed, divisions into 3 nations, riots and what not.

BUT ironically.......     English is status, fame, name, educational benchmark.

AND rastrabhasha ....  Bloody Deshi....Middle class, illiterate, rubbish.....

Wa re Wa India, Kahan ja raha tu

All with my heart I am proud to have people like SURENDRA sir on this forum.

JAYATU BHARTI, JAYATU BHARTAM

Passing CA is not the only requirement to reach heights.... I agree with ORE... U should be able to communicate... Though not in a classical way simple english with clarity will do good..... Cheers.....

Kindly consider my reply just as professional reality.

As per my understanding and observation during my professional working good knowledge of englisg with good communication skills is directly connected with your confidence during your professional life.

Your thinking that normal english is enough shows your defensive approach and nothing else and also restrict you observe correctly.
