Hi Everyone,
I am having an issue with my previous employer not revising the form16 he has issued in April. He has issued a form16 with incorrect amount of section 80c for Mutual Funds in april. I have not checked Form-16 so far and when I checked it yesterday, I found the amount reduced and incorrect.
When I contacted my previous employer, Payroll department is refusing to revisit the form16 as the March 2009 year is over and their books are closed. But I have recieved form16 only in April, so they have sent it only after closing their books. Even after talking to many people, no one seems to be cooperating in rectifying their mistake.
Please let me know what are my options other than just accepting their refusal to correct their mistake.
