Eligibility criteria for ca registration and ipc examination

I am working as a scientist in a central govt. organization with M.Tech qualification in engineering stream. I am aged about 55 years and cannot attend any type of classes leading to IPC Exam of CA organized by acredited institute of ICAI while in service. Shall I wait for my retirement for undertaking CA course and will it be useful after 60 years of age. Also please discuss procedure for enrollment for CA course under direct entry system.

Welcome sir for Ca fraternity.. However what usefulness u mean. If you have passion and ready to learn new areas to increase knowledge... That is the use and satisfaction. Increasing the income cannot be the criteria... I suppose.being scientist u may have rich knowledge already and u can become a technical consultant

I am sorry that my question is not properly understood and therefore do not want to extend the discussion further on usefulness aspect. However, no comments was made on my enrollment for IPC examination under direct entry scheme for which I shall remain thankful.

Hi Sir,

It is very inspiring to know about your interest in pursuing the ca course.

There are 2 methods of entry to the CA Course.They are:

1)The CPT route.The CPT examination is like an entrance to the CA course.It is opted by students who want to pursure CA directly after their 12th examinations.However the Institute is currently making changes which will result in the CPT examinations becoming more difficult to clear.

2)Direct entry scheme.The direct entry scheme is opted by students who have completed their UG degree.They have to do their articles training on par with preparation for IPCC examinations.The eligibilitiy is 60% in UG for non-commerce graduates.

As you already have an M.Tech degree I would suggest that you take up the direct entry scheme.The CA course is very rigorous and requires lot of study and practice.So it is upto you to decide when you can start pursuing it.
