ANNOUNCEMENT 11th November, 2009

The Institute’s attention has been drawn today to an SMS purportedly sent from a code source viz. `TM-ICAI ELC’ which tends to give an impression that the same has linkage to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and its election in an abbreviated form. It has also been brought to our notice that the concerned message has reportedly been sent to all the members of a particular region.

With a view to putting the records straight, it is hereby clarified that the said code source and the message reportedly sent through that, has no linkage to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. In other words, that message was not sent from the side of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

We take this opportunity to request the members, candidates and supporters of candidates to desist from using the name of the Institute in any manner, whatsoever, in relation to their election campaign.
