If someone doesn’t have the password of his incometaxindiaefiling portal account, then how to get the new password for it. The email id registered with the portal is that of his consultant, who has left the country.

there are 3 ways to reset password :- 1. answer secret question 2. register your digital signature 3. give details of efiling acknowledgement no. of last ITR filed.
if still unable to reset your password then send a mail mentioning your pan details and registered address (address available with IT Deptt. in PAN database). you will get a password reset link and then you can reset your password
Digital signature is the only solution. Because in other 2 options , the link is send to registered email Id which is of the consultant in this case. Apply and register your digital signature , reset your password and you can then file your returns.
@ raj.. if u follow the other 2 options and answer them correctly then you directly get to reset password on screen, no email is sent for reset.
