Has e-payment of taxes made mandatory? If so who r all the persons? Whats the procedure? Here in small towns in Tamil Nadu the payment has been made manually by the 280 Challan for some small (Pvt) Companies. Bank has also accepted.

NO ITS NOT MANDATORY
Its mandatory for 44AB cases and corporates. Pls check in the IT website - press release dated 23-01-2008
