E-filing with digital signatures problem

ITR 1068 views 5 replies

Hi,

Since the past 2 days I've been trying to upload 2 ITRs.. One is ITR-6 for a Pvt Ltd Company and the other is ITR-4 for a Tax Audit Proprietor. Digital Signature is required for both.

In case of ITR-6, I get an error that there is some problem with the server.

In case of ITr-4, I get the following error:

PAN provided at the time of registration of DSC and PAN provided in verification portion of IT return do not match. Please ensure that the person verifying the IT return is the same as the person who has registered the DSC Please rectify the Above error(s) and upload your return again

Name in PAN records is Krishnakant . His usual name is Krishna. Could this be causing any problems?

I've tried 4 different web browsers on 4 different computers. Please help!

Hi,  it happens sometimes that the name printed on PAN Card is different and in the database of Income Tax is different. In this case, first try to know what is the correct name recorded in Database of INcome Tax Department. For this, just try to fill challan 280 (for self assessment). Just give correct PAN and than you will get the correct name recorded in Database of IT Departmnet. Try it thereafter.

Its actually Krishnakant over there. And I think in Digital Signature it is Krishna. Can this cause the problem? What should be done?

No, You must verify  - the person who is signing in the declaration area and the DSC (PAN) should be same. Then only it'll accept.

Are you sure the ITR4 you are trying to upload is for proprietorship concern? or, is it partnership?

If the latter then you need to ensure that the partner who is mentioned as authorised signatory in the XML is same as the partner whose DSC is registered on the ITD portal.

In any case, verify that the authorised signatory's PAN in XML matches with the DSC's encrypted PAN.

In DSC the PAN should be correct, otherwise name difference is not much of an issue.

It happened to me when I tried to upload the ITR of a different PAN from the PAN I logged.

So I suggest once again you verify whether the PAN - with which you logged in and the ITR you are trying dto upload are the same OR not.

In my opinion The anme need not be as p[er the IT Data base. PAN No. alone is important.

(If at all the name is so important I am sure that 60-70% ITRs could not have been uploaded.)
