If I encounter an error while linking the aadhar to PAN that the address and other details are not the same as those in Aadhar, then what should be done? Should I change the data in the PAN or in the Aadhar?

The details might not match even for small errors. forget linking the aadhar and send a signed copy of acknowledgement to CPC.
Else use net banking for verification
Please send ITR V by post to CPC Bangalore immediately. Aadhaar Linking can be done later on after investigating the error.
