Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether Deferred Tax Assets (DTA) and Deferred Tax Liabilities (DTL) should be netted off when presenting a company's Balance Sheet. According to accounting standards, specifically AS 22, DTA and DTL cannot be netted off. Both must be presented separately in the financial statements for accurate reporting.

No you can net off according to accounting standars.
Shri Kamathji, can we or can we not?
As per Accounting Standards you CAN NOT net off DTA and DTL while presenting Financial statements.
For accurate presentation.....refer AS 22
AS22 does not speak about netting....ie it is silent either on netting or otherwise....
You can't Net off both. You have to present both in FS.
