Dt amendment

As per my experience, the best starting point for getting some thing is nil. you should go for self study, becouse when you know no body behind you to support, then you go for each and every aspectlike , study mat, practice manual, case law, rtp. you will also save your time , that time you can use for some more value additions like to revise the amendments etc. 

Look at the subject in its entirety. Do not be under illusion that questions would come mainly from amendments, who said so. There would be a situation the paper may not have questions on amendment at all or may be only for few marks it may be asked. Knowing the latest provisions where amendments have been made is no doubt important, but do not strain yourself saying I devoted so much of time for amendments and in the exam it was asked only for 4 marks. That is you building expectations it would be asked for 30 to 35 marks. If your expectations fall short you will be disappointed. This is CA examination, you need to have a balanced study approach to secure good marks. Hence, give importance to the whole subject, as anything can be asked from any corner and CA exams can shock you with surprises. On your specific question of self preparation, yes you can do it.

It's better if you go for classes of amendment which will give crux behind the amendments and you will be able to grasp the subjectmatter easily bcoz there are some amendment which are complex in nature so expert knowledge is require and if such class  covering all amendments relating to FA 2015 then go for it. Also Cover latest Case laws of ICAI with the same.

If u have access to YouTube u can find DT amendment lectures online,most notably Farooq Haque sir uploads amendment lectures of Dt & Idt..Cheers n all the best

go for self study nd refer q in practice manual . if any problem then you can post here on ca clubindia .

Buy the institute supplementary notes for amendments..(its cheap, no biggie)

if u have internet (ofc u have..unless u are from stone age) , search amendments in dt on youtube...wont take more than 1-2 hrs for all amendments in dt-idt

I think you should go for class....for the examination point of view it is very important to cover the amendments...and with class u will get conceptual clearity...only 8 class is of vg sir...so go for it sruti..
