You donot require your principals' letter to write your exam.... As far as the excess leave is concerned its' better to clarify with the Inst.... But as far as my knowledge goes, your principal would deduct the excess leave from the actual period of articles'.i.e. The total period of articleship would increase, and the articles wont end after 3 yrs. Most principals' are co-op with their articled clerks and they allow the articled to leave the firm after the stipulated period of 3 yrs. without taking into account the excess leave, but that cannot be said for all. But, as far the "new" system goes, the articleship has been increased to 3 1/2 years & one can appear for the final ca exams only after compleating his articleship.. Please do specify, if you are in Final CA (old)/(new) or in PCC / PE II
hi exess leave means over and above 1/7 period. of articles. u r princle has to give service certificate on the back of examamination application. in that he may mention u r complition details. u r eligible after complition of u r articles for 2 years including exess leave.
