Doubt about itr-1 form

Efiling 840 views 2 replies

Suppose for someone, total tax payable is Rs1503  and TDS deducted is Rs1288. He calculates self assessment tax Rs (1503-1288)=Rs215. To round off, he deposits tax Rs220. Now in ITR-1 form "tax paid and verification" section shows refund for Rs5. Should he keep it as it is?

Second, in "income details" section, what should he mention at "tax status"?  "tax refundable" or "nil tax balance"? which one is appropriate in this case?

Third, if he is not using digital signature, shold he leave blanck the "sign here" cell in "tax paid and verification" section? In fact excel does not allow user to write here. But this is crucial, to uplaod return without anything like signature: will there be problem or is it normal since ITR-V will have to be sent here?

1. No Tax is to be paid and No Refund is paid below Rs.100/-, so leave the refund column as it is.

2. Status should be 'Nil Tax Balance'

3. Signature column is to be left blank, in all the cases. The column is provided, so that XML file reads the blank and accordingly a blank space appears when the ITR-V is generated , or it affixes the Digital Signature online.

Regards.

Thank you very much.

One more doubt, not related to income tax but employment status. If someone is a permanent staff in a government aided school/college, should he mention his employer catagory GOV/PSU/OTH/NA?

Thanks.
