DOES WE DESERVE TO BE A CA

Every tym n nw, I too ask dis same question to myself dat "Do I deserve to become CA???"

Especially wen I get negative result or fail to understand any concept......

But at d same tym wen i see students passing enough though with less efforts I feel why cant I...???

I hve mre knowledge den mny other students still why i get negative result?? & at dat tym I say 2 my ownself dat "I DONT DESERVE 2 BE C.A"

u r right mansi ...but one think we will and we will do it in may'2011 with style ...dnt worry

with dis hpe only, passing in May'11 cme out 4m shock and started studying wid new enthu....!!!

sam things happen with me i m thinking to get  more than 450 in november ended with 380  thats all  part of game anyway , its told  before even

palace need  lot of time to get consructed rather then a simple home

and rome is not built in a day

we need to taste in unsuccess even so that we always remain on ground and work harder to achive

hmm.... nice question yar infact a doubt which always intact in mind....

ya practical life is quite different from all wt we do in our study our exams etc.

and wt i experienced abt passsing in exams is only dat its the GAME OF 3 HOURS, put all your knowledge aside and answer wat the examiner is asking........

and success will be wid the person who manages to PLAY THIS 3 HOUR GAME  SMARTLY whether or not he/she have wast knowledge......

even after that if u get pass does we are capable to handle the situation ...to be frank with u this question arisis when one of the ca is asking me the procedue to get the tin number under the maharastra sales tax act , tell me onething i can do it in 2 min why he need to  ask me and u know i got shocked when he told  he had never did so he dnt know the procedure , its k even if he is doing for first time tell me onething dnt he suppose to know the procedure

if he is not then how he is going to handle the client list he have in near future and who is responisble to get him pass , there are many many situtautions comes in mind

i just made a list of questions , if any one think he can be well qualified he just need to answer them if he can i will say i m wrong in doing that infact many who are in practice cant answer i bet on that

tell me onething just one example , company having a fdi share of 25 % want to start full fledge business in india what they need to do ...

anyway its a long discussion some other time but onething is sure ca means alot

yup yaaaar u r right CA MEANS ALOTand your point is also correct that the questions u will ask, many of qualified CA's is not able to answer.....

but we have to consider one more point yar that ONE CAN'T BE A EXPERT IN ALL FIELDS i mean to say some practices in direct taxes mainly some in indirect taxes and some in corporate law matters and ya some even choose to take all matters......

and wt u pointed that the CA asked u abt the registration in vat law but he told he havent done tht ever it doesnt mean that he is not able to do this but we should simple interpret it as he is not doing his practice in that sector.....

finally all in one i can say ICAI IS JUST PROVIDING US A ROADMAP- AND AFTER BUILDING THIS ROADMAP SUCCESSFULLY(i.e getting passed)- WE HAVE TO DECIDE THE AREA OF OUR EXPERTISE TO PRACTICE....

it doesnt mean that if ur roadmap is build you are an expert of everything......

I understand ur emotions but u also needs to understand that not only there are international clients, thre are small and medium sector enterprises alos, and although CA means a lot but every CA doesnt needs to have everything known.

Although some of the CAs are there which are not having the expexted qualities but it doesnt mean that they dont deserve to be a CA. And what u r saying about the CA who asked u the procedure of Sales Tax registration, i understand wat u felt that tym but at the same tym i want u to understand that u also had to learn wen u did that first tym. So, why we are ashamed of learning afetr becoming a CA.

Wat i think is that even after becoming CA we should have the guts to learn even from our juniors etc. u cant learn everything during articleship. Sky is the limit of scope of CA. So its only through continous learning and experience one could develop himself as a near to expert in some fields among the various fields coming under the purview of CA.

U have full right to agree or disagree from my views, but at the same tym everyone has its own views and opinins like u & me.

@ Ram:I respect ur viewpoint,but also want to tell that everyone doesnt get opportunity to do articleship in BIG 4..even i want to do..bt at that tym they told me dat we our priority is   RANKERS..so im ineligible..second why we hav so much attraction to the FOREIGN??is India not good?see its growth..even if some factors lke corruption are there bt still a lucrative one..third..I hav seen many CAs who dnt did articleship bt they are growing...in corporates & practise also..u knw i believe that ones approch to learn is IMP rather than his place of work...CA is wide ..its knowledge is wide...every CA cant b expected to knw all the things...as we r a human...this is my personal view ,u may  not agree to it.....thax...

first of all thanks to all for u r views and messages , i m not concerned about the way we do out articlship not even that , that everyone has a right to know , even add to that ca are human so they are even  suppose to update , furture more for the attraction towards the foreign

i mean to say tell me one thing will u guys do agree that even after so much u r lacking somewhere might be i m wrong but its my personal view that even after becoming a ca , we dnt have confidence to take the cases as we are suppose to do , and the knowldge is quite a big word u can get all u r life its seems to be never ending task , but what makes me concerned that something should be done like help line by the institute where we can ask the silly questions which we might suppose to know but we dnt know there are many things , after all its learing process which never going to stop that even i agree

what i m  concerned about is that we dnt have a confidence to take up every task even after being a ca ..ofcourse related to our feild .some thing should be done to make equipe with all the bows and arrows required before giving us a word ca to be prefix .

Its simply apply to us in practice also i mean when we engage to do something first time its obvious that our confidence will be lower as compared to the job which we are doing in regular time.....

so no need to worry yaaaaar its a part of our life

famous quote of kalam--human being has always been ignorant n will be....it means,no individual can say tht i hav 100% knowledge unless he's a fool or a listner is a fool...ther's nothing wrong in not knowing something,if ther's sumthing wrong,its with NO INTEREST/WILL TO KNOW...a professional shud always be like dry sponge,ready to absorb water(knowledge)....

coming to exam point as sum guys said...ya,there r ppl with good knowledge but unable to pass exam....but,the point is wen u r a professional,u shud reproduce ur knowledge wen its required...like in case of exam...tht needs ultimate presence of mind....the tru test in case of exam is,u r presence of mind....wen u hav it,u'll get evry thing n can face nything....good luk to u all....good or bad,the letters CA b4 our names add value to u...whether u add value to urself n to ur knowledge after passing is in ur hands...always be willig to learn n learn....

so u mean to say that its k even if u dnt have a knowldge , there is nothing wrong to get a prefix of ca .

see to add knowledge is diffrent thing what i mean to say is , u know the basics u r noet expected to be like tendulkar but yes before joining the Indian team u should know how to play ...
again if u get the prefix CA without that basics its not of anyones fault , i m telling is not institute is responible for this .

i ask the same question to our x president CA.amarjeet  , he is of the opinion that before starting practice every CA should work for six months or a year under his seniors , so what the hell we did in so called 3 years thats what i want to ask ?
