I prepare the balance sheet of one client (individual). Now the client is not required to prepare his balance sheet from me. Actually he does not wants to work with me.. He is requiring all the papers or documents regarding past years.. What are the specific documents I should give to him?

His income tax Login ID and Password. If earlier not given than copy of ITR filed, P&L and balance sheet. If Audit applicable to your client than audit report copy and lastly Invoice for outstanding professional fees.

Thanks.. But whether these copies are required (by me) to preserve for any future reference..

I will advice you to keep the documents copy with you. In case in future any demand or notice received than it will be helpful for you to go through working papers, computation, Financials and ITR. preserve it for Six years.
