Hi friends,

I have cleared both groups of IPCC in may'2014. I have an IT background and currently working for a top MNC (I have 4 years of software experience). CA had been always my passion. Now I will be quiting my software job and will be joining articleship. Request your suggestion if my IT background will help me to get into a big4 for articles or any other ways where I can project myself as a CA with add on advantage of IT skills. Is there any CA firm who is looking out for such a diversified background CA + IT. Hope I am clear.. Please post your suggestions. Thanks!

1)Yes you can be a Techno Functional consultant of an ERP.Thats the best appropriate i feel.

2)You may also get into IT risk and advisory services.

From here Choosing a CA firm is very critical decision for you.Cos the CA firms are more bothered to get their work done rather than Expose you to the blended training of IT and Business.

You could choose a medium sized firm right now to get into all aspects of business and then within a year take switch( due to transfer norms) to a specilized aspect of above two.

As of now understanding Frame work of business and applying the Finance concepts learnt in ipcc is essential.
