Please let me know whether it is essential to attach DIR-4 to Form DIR-3.
Actually I am filing DIR-3 for the foreign national who is residing in India and has a valid visa.
Is it ok if I got his document attested by gazzated officer.

If is residing in India and if he has valid Indian address proof, then even attestation is also not required. You will require only Passport and one valid Indian address proof. Form DIR-4 is omitted since long, so no need to attach it.
ACCORDING TO SECTION 153 OF THE COMOPANIES ACT 2013, IF YOU ARE FILING DIR 3 FOR FOREIGN NATIONAL WHO IS RESIDING IN INDIA, THEN YOU NEED A VALID PROOF OF IDENTITY AS ID PROOF AND ONE INDIAN RESIDENTIAL PROOF AND 2 PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOGRAPH AND PASSPORT OF SUCH FOREIGN NATIONAL AND IN CASE OF NAME OF THE PERSON DOES NOT HAVE SIR NAME OR LAST NAME , THEN HIS FATHER OR GRANDFATHER SURNAME SHALL BE MENTIONED IN THE LAST NAME ALONG WITH DECLARATION IN FORM DIR 3A
in case of foreign national is it mandatory to certify the passport by embassy?
