DIN application

(1) The DIN Application has to be attested by a Notary Public in Japan (where your foreign director normally resides). The attestation should be on the first page of the application across the photograph as well as on the application. The attestation should not deface the photograph of the applicant.

(2) All the documents being submitted as proof also need to be attested by the Notary Public from Japan

ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE IS

Check whether your company (incorporated in India) has a Managing Director OR Chief Executive Officer OR a Company Secretary in Whole Time Employment. Any one of these persons can attest the application as well as the supporting documents (Refer DIN application third page for guidelines - Point No.7)

Thanks a lot Murlidharan Sir, I am working as a Company Secretary of the  said company, but many of my friends who have appointed forign directors on the Board informed me that application with MD's attestations are not acceptable now a days, similarly when I give a call to DIN cell regarding this they insist on the notarization first and for my second call they accepted MDs attestation I  was not sure regarding MD's attestation but now I will try to go in the same manner and will see.

This is a rather late reply. But just to inform you.. I have got DINs for Foreign Directors approved on the basis of MD certification. You can go ahead with the same.
