Difference in form16 (part a) and part b

Tax queries 414 views 5 replies

In Form 16 (Part A) salary paid is shown more than actually paid and shown correct figures in Part B (of Form 16). In 26AS also same higher salary is being reflected as shown in Part A. Due to this there is a mismatch in actually paid salary and shown in 26AS (here shown higher salary amount).

When filling ITR2 salary in different heads total is correct but less than 26AS (and thus not matching).

What should be done while filling ITR2. Please suggest and guide.

kindly contact ur employer and asked him to revise TDS Return

Means employer should revise TDS return i.e. 26AS to Income Tax Department. Am I right?

If they refuse to do so then what should I do? Please advise.

Furnish your ITR with the true details of actual income and TDS deducted. Meanwhile, let your employer revise TDS return.

Ok. Thanks

Ms Navya Tejas Ji Should I correct figures in TDS tab also in TDS1 22(B) in "Income chargeable under salaries" which will be actual but lesser than appearing in 26AS. Already written to company to correct the figures. If it is not corrected in 26AS what will result. Please guide. Thanks.
