Is there any difference between a Director and an Executive Director ?

Hi,

Director is a generalised term and includes a executive director.

Basically a director is divided into executive and non executive director.

Executive Directors refers to a director who is in the whole-time employment of the company and receives remuneration like a whole time director, MD, etc.
 
Non executive director is the one who is not in whole time employment of the company and does not receive any salary or remuneration, for eg independent director, nominee director, etc....

in short we can say executive director is an employee of a compant wheras only director which contains both executive as well as non executive director. Non executive director is not an employee he is an independant director
