winding up and liquidation are synonymous.. both are smart precesses
*both are same process to achieve dissolution, which is final death of a corporation
in which circumtances both these terms use differently?

companies act 2013 uses these two words interchangeably ... the usage is purely as per convinience and does not have differential implications ....

(I think )
company not to in position for carring on business, then company should be go in position of "winding up". In other hand, liquidation are called "the process of winding up".
Winding up means the total process to bring the company to an endwhile liquidation is just a part of this complete process, which is basically realization of assets and discharging the liabilities
liquidation is voluntarily or as told in the above para by Ritesh Jhaa. But winding up means a company ends by the order or court.
