Didn't clear May '10 New exam, advice me please.

Institute's case law book is obselete as 50 cases out of 54 were overruled, Only four cases relevent in direct taxes from that booklet.

first of all pls try to work more hard in thr practical oriented papers like accounts, mafa and costing. these papers are scoring and contain less of theory, once u can get good marks in them then clearing others wont be much of a problem. regarding direct taxes instead of concentrating on the case laws give more importance to the latest amendments. i totaly agree with atul that the institute material is bit outdated but still the four cases which came in may exam were from that book only.. i guess atul too is refering to those cases only...
regarding theory papers marks wont be given completely and also its difficicult to score in them. for practical papers jus follow a single book and ensure that u hv the concept clarity

In a manipulated results u got good marks. not worry you are lacking only 10 marks in each subject. use same books which used earlier keep another 25% extra time. Above all first take old paper of may 2010 analyse your performance and were u lacked work on it. surely u can get through as u just didnt pass i would say u failed.

Thank you for your responses, friends! I'll take your advice, I'll continue using the same notes i had used for May except IDT, I'll switch to Ajay Jain if possible. I had a shock when i saw theory was for 20 marks in MAFA & Costing, I'll prepare for theory well this time. Have to do better with AS as well. I had panicked bad in costing otherwise the standard costing & learning curve sums were from my class notes :( For DT there will be a  new set of amendments for the November attempt right? Has the institute issued a new booklet for it or should i buy a new manoharan? Also will the cases be the same, as IDT is more of a case law paper. Anyone got some good notes for the PE2 portion of the syllabus of DT? It was a major pain going through PGBP & CG towards the end. I'm planning to buy padhuka's book for SFM to supplement my class notes, is it a good buy? I'm not comfortable with sridhar's book.

Sanchita, thanks for your observation but that's not necessarilly the case.. or else fresh CA's would've been as seasonal as mangoes!! I myself cleared PE2 grp2 in May 07 & grp1 in Nov 07. I'd prefer to give both again.
