In counting the term of Independent Director should the period from his appointment as Additional Director to be considered or only the period from the appointment in the AGM?

Yes, An independent director can be appointed for a term of upto 5 years. The term of 5 years shall be calculated from the date of his appointment as Additional Director - Independent director.
