Hospital indore expenses

An operation was made of my son in private hospital admitted 14 days and incurred Rs.8.15 lakhs. No reimbursement or mediclaim has received. Is it deducted from gross salary?

If the operation is made in respect of the diseases prescribed under section 80ddb then deductions to an extent of 40k (100k if senior citizen) can be claimed

You can claim deduction up to 40000 if dependent suffering from a specified disease covered under section 80DDB for medical treatment . but u should be obtain a certificate from a doctor(Pvt or Govt) to claim deduction.
Diseases covered include ataxia, dementia, aphasia, dystonia musculorum deformans, Parkinson’s, motor neuron disease, renal failure, cancers, hematological disorders and AIDS.
