Payment of Tax under Composition Scheme

if a business has turnover of Rs. 10 Lakhs, but has applied for voluntary GST registration and opted for composition scheme, is there any need to pay tax and file quarterly returns ?? Or When a business is registered under GST law, is it compulsory to pay tax irrespective of the turnover criteria.
