It is displayed on COMMON PORTAL, now rupees 20/- per day of delay in filing pf return..
first you tell me you have filled nil return or exempt.
As of now no interest and penalty in GST
Dear RSk Srinivas,

There is late fees of Rs. 50 (CGST-25 & SGST -25) per day for delay of filing of return. However in case of nil return i.e., without any sales in the month then Rs. 20 (CGST-10 & SGST-10) is the late fees.

Late fees is automatically calculated by the system.
I agree with sujith kumar, but I wish to inform you that fees of Rs. 20 (CGST - 10 & SGST - 10) is applicable not only to nil returns, and it is not that you should not have sales, even though you have sales in that period, after utilizing ITC if there is no output liability, then also fees applicable is Rs. 20. Finally if output liability is Nil, then it is Rs.20 and if you have any output liability it is Rs. 50
No. Two days back for one of our client we filed pendong returns from Sep-17, the portal automatically shown Rs. 50 even though there is no net cash payable for the month. While in another month where there is no taxable sales at all late fees @ 20 was automatically display. Hence on that note if there is taxable sales in the month then Rs. 50 would be late fees.
Mr. Sujith you can go through the wordings of notification no. 64/2017 central tax
Provided that where the total amount of central tax payable in the said return is nil, the amount of late fee payable by such registered person for failure to furnish the said return for the month of October, 2017 onwards by the due date under section 47 of the said Act shall stand waived to the extent which is in excess of an amount of ten rupees for every day during which such failure continues. From above extract of notification it is clear that late fee of Rs. 10 will be applicable if tax payable is nil. Please note that it is not saying tax payable in cash is nil. Hence if there is payable in the month which can be adjusted against input credit even then late fee @ 25 will be applicable not Rs. 10.
Okay sujith thank you for the clarification
I have missed an invoice to show in february GSTR-3b, now I will add it in March gstr-3b. my question is whether I have to pay interest on that while filing march gstr-3b
