whether total contribution made towards nps can be claimed as deduction up to additional 50 000 u/s 80ccd, if total saving u/s 80c exceeds 1.5 lakh

total deduction u/s 80C, 80CCD and 80CCD(1) shall not exceed 1.5 lakhs

employers contribution to nps u/s 80CCD(2) and additional deduction u/s 80CCD(1B) for employees contribution to nps can be claimed in addition to 1.5 lakes. hope u are clear.

as per sec 80ccd DEDUCTION ALLOWED

80ccd(1) employee contribution
10%of salary or
10% of GTI(SALARIED EMPLOYEE)

80CCD(1b)
₹50,000

80CCD(2). employer contribution
10% of salary

BUT DEDUCTION claimed as per sec 80C 80CCC 80CCD(1) should not be excess of ₹1,50,000.

BUT NO LIMIT FOR 80CCD(1B)
and 80CCD(2)

answering to your question
yes you can claim additional 50,000 as deduction.

it is better to claim ₹50,000 contribution to Nps as deduction u/s 80CCD(1B) and then remaining contribution under 80CCD(1)
