24 June 2017I LIVE IN GROUP HOUSING SOCIETY. AS MY SOCIETY CHARGE ME FOR MONTHLY MAINTAINANCE RS. 1200/- ( INCLUSIVE OF WATER BILL, STREET ELECTRICITY BILL, SECURITY BILL, PARK & ROAD MAINTAINANCE. ETC.). AND ITS TOTAL RECEIPTS IS MORE THEN 20 LAKH IN AN YEAR. IS MY SOCIETY COMES UNDER GST ACT. (UNDER 18% SLAB).
IF YES THEN WHAT IS THE SOLUTION FOR THAT, IF MEMBERS ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY TAX.

As they providing you the Services for all these Ameneties.
and If there gross receipts exceeds 20 Lakhs then they have to registered under GST act and will charge GST as per the Act.
There is no solution ... you have to pay the GST if they charge as per the Act

But the services rendered by the society are not in the course of business or for the furtherance of the business, hence not a supply, hence GST should not be applicable
