Income Tax demand paid under wrong minor head

I paid the income tax demand in wrong minor head instead of 400. Demand is still showing. What to do?

File a Letter to Assessing Officer mentioning the reason for the mistake. Officer will give the credit and will update the same in system

If u file/submit the letter in Income Tax department they will update in their system accordingly but for that u have to first intimate them about the issue then only they will act. Dont go for challan correction it will take long procedure. I m from Mumbai, I have rectified many such issues of my firm.
