Vat and cst

I am confused regarding billing of CST and vat. If I prefer vat instead of CST when there is inter state sales. Plz clarify

we made local sales then we want put the local sales tax bill as per commodity what uhave rate applicable suppose if u are made sales outside the state then cst rwill be applicable then cform u can receive from the customer to whom uhave made cst sales

Thanks Sesha and Deepak for your reply . But its my real experience that when he have sold goods to Delhi from Mumbai and we have issued vat sales invoice last 2 yes back. And we have also paid vat for that quarter and also filed vat return. But we not got any sort of scrutiny from sales tax department.

Plz kindly give me feedback.

As chartered accountant in this group are busy so they are not helping to solve queries without any fees.

The maximum what department wants is the tax. By charging vat you paid them 5 % which is 3 % extra, as ordinarily 2% is the cst rate. So why will they raise query.

I mean we are charging vat 1.1 % on jewellery inter state sales while CST u told me its chargeable at 2% then how sales tax dept have not raise any queries when we have charged @ 1.1% .Plz clarify my doubts
