Short Term Capital Gain and Loss in ITR2

4304 views 6 replies

Hi All,

I have some Short Term capital gains from shares and also have some Short Term Capital loss. Adding both of them makes it negative (i.e loss) . Is there any need to show these gains and losses while filing ITR form ? If yes then which form should I use and how to indicate both Loss and Gain in the form ?

Thanks.

Hi

You should fill in ITR 2 the relavent details..It is better to show all profits and losses...declaring a loss will enable you to claim set off from profits in the next year

Hi,

I also tried to fill short term capital gain in many places of ITR2, but no success. Can anyone please inform exactly where to fill this loss for carry forward to next year?

Thanks,

Swapan

I have a question on Capital Gains:

For entering the capital gain on redemption of mutual funds under CG we have to go to 'Sale of assets other than all listed above'. There is a place for Consideration, which is the redemption amount. For showing the cost of the purchase, there is only 'Deduction under sec 48'.

Section 48 is for NRIs. Where should we as residents show the deductions? Please help.
