Income of temple

Tax queries 1320 views 2 replies

Hi,

There is a temple near to my home.. Monthly Collection of that temple is around Rs.55000/-. The collection is used only for the renovation of temple and meeting day to day expenses.

The Pujari is the only person who made this temple spending his own money in the beginning . Now he is turning to 80.

The entire land is on the name of pujari. It is like he had a place where he made the temple and people started to put money into the collection box.

My question is that the collection money is under the tax liability or not ?

The Temple is not spending collection money for any charitable purpose.

Kindly Suggest......

Individual return of pujari will be filled and income of temple will be add in pujari income...

He should form a private trust. Prepare a trust deed and make him and one or two of his legal heirs as the trustee of the private trust.

Since he is 80, he must make a Will making one of his legal heirs as the beneficiary of his estate after his death.
