Regarding query on tax calculation with respect to shares

Hi Folks,

I purchased shares on 25/01/2012 and sold on 19/10/2012 , Please advise me it comes under which category either it is long term or short term. Please reply.

Income earned by individual in financial year 2012-2013 between 1aprl to 31 march 2013 will be taxable under a.y 2013-2014.security sold within one year of purchase will be know short term traded security will charge short term capital gain.
