Personally I feel that for better understanding of law and other theory subjects, you are advised to develop interest in the study material provided by the institute. Filtering the relevant information and content from study book is not an easy task. But still the importance of referring study material cannot be denied.
If you start referring study material, it will give you an understanding which content is relevant from exam point of view. This understanding will help you during your final preparation and professional working.
