can anybody tell whether the expenses viz., brokerage, other charges, ST on brokerage and STT charged on purchase & sale of shares to be considered for arriving the actual share value?? This is required to compute tax on capital gains - shares

Yes, we need to include all such expenses ie. brokerage , STT....... to the purchase of shares for arriving at the toal cost of share for determining the capital gains on sale. Further on sale you receive the net amount after deducting all such expenses so need not consider them at that point. Hope this will clear your query.
