21 August 2012An educational society was granted exemption u/s 80G for the period of 2002-2005. Now, can this be renewed or we have to apply for new registration since 7 years have passed. Also we had got Section 12A registration at that time - Do we need to apply for that again or is that lifetime?

If Your Exemption Granted Certificate on or After 1/4/6 The No Need to Apply.
But In UR Case You have to Apply Again.

Thanks Ayush - I believe you are talking about Sec 80G which was granted on 23.10.02. So that has to be applied again afresh without any reference to old certificate. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Ad what about certificate u/s 12A - Does that need to be applied again also?

That No Need to Apply.
and Regarding 80g, Once You Taken, Then No Need to Apply Every Year. till AO Not Cancell Your Exemption Certificate.

Thanks but I think I am confusing in 80 G and 12A. I am putting two questions separately again.
1. 80G was granted on 23.10.02. for the period 1.4.2002 to 31.03.2005. So does that have to be applied again afresh without any reference to old certificate? Please advise.
2. 12A had also been granted at that time - Does that need to be applied again? Please advise
