 Hello Nidhi

Share Transfer Deed is Form 7B. Its a document which executes transfer from transferor to transferee

and needs to get duly stamped. Stamp Duty is 0.25 Paise for Rs.100/-.

Post this share certificate is  issued to the Transferee , and stamp duty i guess, applicable is 0.10 paise for

Rs.100/- I dont think there is anything called Share Transfer Certificate  in Companies Act 1956.

Issue of Share Certificate is itself a deemed transfer from transferor to transferee.

Experts,

Please advice and pardon me if am wrong.

regards

Santosh Shah

what is the stamp duty payable in case of multiple transfer of Shares i.e.,

For eg. A transfers X shares to B, B transfers X shares to C, C transfers X shares  to D. A is the holding co. of B and B of C and C of D. Is the  stamp duty payable on each Share Transfer?

The stamp duty shall be levied @ .25% of  market value of shares whether transferred with or without consideration ( Gift). The article 62 of Schedule I of  Indian Stamp Act 1899 clearly states so.
