I think deduction is limited to 100000 p.a. Perhaps limit is also upto 100000 p.a. Allowed not sure.

The maximum limit has recently been increased to Rs. 1,00,000/- from 70,000/-.

Pratik ji, limit for tax deduction u/s 80c has increased from 70k to 100000, but my doubt was that suppose i wanna invest 120000 in ppf then ofcourse i can claim only 100000 in u/s 80 and will not get tax benefit for rest 20,000. But kya me Ppf me 120000 bhi in a year invest kar sakta hu?
I think HITEN has also the same question.

MR. PRATEEK IS RIGHT, THE LIMIT FOR PPF INCREASED TO RS.100000/PA (CEASE ONLY UP TO RS.100000/PA) FROM 70000/PA.

FULL AMOUNT IS ELIGIBLE TO CLAIM DEDUCTION U/S 80C UP TO RS.100000/- ONLY EVEN DEPOSIT IS MORE THAN RS.100000/-.

Deepak and Hiten,

I am talking about the maximum deposit in a PPF account. The same coincides with 80C deduction.

Hence, you can invest Maximum Rs 1,00,000/- in a PPF account now. (Minimum 500/-)
