In NSDL I downloaded the form 16 A zip file and try to open the zip file giving TAN no. as password.
TAN no. is 10 digit number but to unzip the file 12 digit number is needed.

I do aggree with Mr.Valji reply. It can be opened only with TAN registration no while registration tan with NSDL.

Please note the password is not the TAN number. It is the Registration number allotted by the TIN NSDL while registering the TAN. That will have 12 digits and the same has to be used for opening the zip file.

with tin-nsdl site do not take anything 'as any routine afffair'
The PASSWORD DIFFERS FROM PURPOSE TO PURPOSE.
SO YOU SHOULD BE DOUBLY -NO- THRIBLY CAREFUL
