Companies act has defined the rates for depreciation. Can depreciation be calculated with the help of rates different from the rates given in the act?

Ya it can be but then depreciation will not as per CA and audit report has to be qualified and for the purpose of dividend distribution it has to be worked out as per CA and only balance amount could be distributed as dividend
Yes Mr. Singh you can apply other rates. But it should be higher than the companies act rates, because act says minimum rates to applied is so much. A note in the accounts to be given for the rates applied.Hope this clears your doubt?
