60% AS PER ITA
Maximum Depreciation as per income tax is now 40%, hence for compuer item the depreciation also to be charged @ 40%. Till the last year it was 60%, but got amended from Finance Act'2017.

Depreciation rate on computer in FY 2017-18 was 40%.
As per Income Tax Act, 1961
Depreciation rate in FY 2017-18 i.e; AY 2018-19 is 40% on computers including computer software
As per Companies Act, 2013:
Useful life of
Servers and networks is 6y and
End user devices, such as, desktops, laptops, etc. is 3y
Depreciation Rate was restricted to 40% .

Depreciation rate for Computers including computer software and laptops is 40%. A “Computer software” means any computer programme recorded on any disc, tape, perforated media or other information storage device.
