I file my tax return with refund due for A.Y.2008-09,through taxsmile.com,Now department advised me to approach Assessing Officer & visit department to claim refund,I expect that's once department adopted efiling technique,must not encourage personal visit to A.O AND discourage the practise followed in past,then what is the used of such implementation of efiling?

who advised you to visit the AO for refund ? I think refunds for last year will be delayed till march 2010 cos processing is delayed cos of centralised system , no use visiting anyone . Dont forget filing for 244A , if not given properly .
I dunno who is responsible for this huge " interest on refunds loss" of department cos of this abnormal delay , Tax payers money is not being utilised properly.
