Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the deduction limits under Section 80DDB for cancer treatment of a dependent father. For the financial year 2023-24, the maximum deduction is £40,000 for individuals below 60 and £100,000 for those 60 and above, subject to actual expenses. For FY 2024-25, taxpayers should await the upcoming budget announcement on July 23rd for potential amendments to these limits.

Of which financial year, you are claiming ?.
Below 60 years 40000/- and above 60 year 100000/- this is maximum limit in under 80DDB in old regime.

Above mentioned deductions are applicable for F.Y 23-24 , however if he is claiming for F.Y 24-25 , then he has to wait for Budget 24 , which is on 23 rd of July , if amendment  took place in this section, it may or may not happens, but check, if you are claiming for F.Y 24-25 .

Exemption from gross total income. Eligible investments
I think in this budget 24, Custom duty on imported Cancer medicine has been removed , so it may becomes cheaper, So you can purchase from outside India for your dependent father, however check effective date .
