Death fraternity contribution - tax exempt or not

Is the Death Fraternity Contribution received to the legal heirs of a deceased person from multiple Social Security Schemes conducted by his Professional Association in which the deceased person is member of. Is the amount received tax exempt or taxable for the legal heirs ???. I believe insurance payout is tax free but not sure about this one.

I think it will be taxable under income from other sources. Wait for more replies.
