i am working in kuwait. my salery is 1.5lac per month. my all salery is still in nre account. i did not transfer money from nre ac to saving account. my days in kuwait in this financial year is only 175days. so please tell me do i have to pay income tax of my salery. please answer...

Need to check earlier four years stay & 7 years stay in India to decide residential status..

If you are resident and ordinarily resident then global income is taxable.

If you are NRI then mere remittance to India is not taxable

Sir i checked earlier 4 year. it is only 300days in abroad in last four years.

Hello,

Was it temporary stay in Abroad or for employment out side India??

1. An Indian citizen who has left India for the purpose of employment in foreign, or

2. An Indian Citizen or person of Indian origin who comes to visit India.

Thus in these cases, if person stays in India for a period of 182 days or more in the concerned F.Y., he is said to be Resident in India.

It seems you are looking like resident and ordinarily resident for the purpose of income tax ..

If you went to abroad on deputation except honorarium , global income is taxable...
